Public-Private Partnership

Relief Nurseries start with interest and financial investment from community members. Their continued success hinges on the time and resources committed by individuals and foundations who give.

The Oregon legislature has been investing in Relief Nurseries since before 1999. That investment has grown over time as more communities have expressed interest and built their own programs.

In the 2021-2023 biennium, Relief Nurseries raised (and are raising) $21,455,897 in private revenue.

Oregon legislators committed to prevention with bipartisan support for the largest investment (yet) in Relief Nurseries with $21,592,872 committed for the biennium.

Together, these resources allowed Relief Nurseries to serve 2,380 children and families.

25% Community Match

Since its inception, the Relief Nursery model has required a matching investment from the community. While the minimum community match is just 25% of the state allocation, all Relief Nurseries must raise more funding to keep operations going. Find out how you can be one of our partners!
